The global landscape of travel drastically changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. International journeys came to a standstill, compelling countries to establish rigorous procedures and entry prerequisites to curtail the virus’s spread.

One such country is Thailand, which had its own set of regulations for foreign travelers. Notably, the Thailand Pass, previously a requisite for entry, has now been revoked. Furthermore, vaccinated individuals are no longer obligated to present evidence of their vaccination status prior to arrival.

For those planning a trip to Thailand, here are some essential details:

Passport Validity: It’s recommended that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
Blank Passport Pages: Ensure you have a minimum of one blank page for each immigration stamp.
Tourist Visa: Not needed if your stay is under 30 days.
Vaccinations: While most travelers may not need any, there’s a potential requirement for a yellow fever vaccination if you’re arriving from specific countries known to have the disease.
Currency Restrictions: There are no restrictions on entering or exiting with currency.

When arriving in Thailand, you’ll be granted a 30-day stay stamp in your passport, regardless of whether you enter by air or land. For all visa categories, your passport should remain valid for a minimum of six months post the date of entry. Additionally, a few blank pages in your passport are advisable. Irrespective of visa status, travelers must present their passport and filled-out Arrival and Departure cards upon entry. Ensure you retain the Departure card as it will be needed when exiting Thailand.
